College Scholarships

Now Accepting Applications for the Brown Deer Community Scholarship 

Now through April 12, 2021, by 3pm

Available to students who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution or training program during the year immediately following graduation. Conditions that will exclude a student from consideration include:


• Receipt of other financial awards equal to or greater than the full cost of tuition, room and board per academic year. Please notify us at [email protected] if you receive such awards.
• Failure to submit this form with proper signatures or before Mon Apr 12, 2021 by 3pm.
• Failure of reference to return completed materials on or before Mon Apr 12, 2021 by 3pm.
• Providing erroneous or misleading information on the scholarship application.
• Failure to attend an accredited college or technical school on a full-time basis for the 2021-22 school year. In unique circumstances and at the discretion of the Education Foundation of Brown Deer, Inc., the scholarship may be reserved for use during the 2022-23 school year (e.g. military obligation).

 


Funds will be disbursed to scholarship award winners in September/October upon presentation of a "Proof of Enrollment" document to the Education Foundation of Brown Deer, Inc. by the student, signifying full time enrollment at the accredited college or technical school.
Awards will be forfeited if “Proof of Enrollment” not received by Oct 31.
The Brown Deer Community Scholarship application should be submitted to the EFBD on or before Mon Apr 12, 2021 by 3:00pm. No application (including letter of recommendation) will be accepted after this date. Letters of recommendation should be sent directly to [email protected]

 

 


History of Scholarship Awards

In 2020, 17 Education Foundation scholarships for a total of $25,500 were awarded to Brown Deer High School graduating seniors.

This scholarship program, founded in Brown Deer over 40 years ago, has provided over $1 million in scholarships to Brown Deer graduates since its inception. We are proud to carry on this tradition.

We also awarded seven named scholarships in 2020, totaling $13,500, and funded by generous friends and alumni of the Brown Deer Schools:

  • Novak Honorable Athlete Scholarship: $5,000
  • Three STRV365 Scholarships: $1,500 each
  • North Shore Girls Youth Basketball Scholarship: $1,000
  • AASA Apprenticeship Scholarship: $1,000
  • Zach Schimenz Music Scholarship: $2,000
